What is Vārttā?

Vārttā is a student-led magazine that explores how economics relates to the world around us. The name Vārttā comes from the Sanskrit word for news, discussion, or exchange of ideas. The magazine aims to encourage thoughtful conversations that go beyond traditional economic topics. We see economics as more than just graphs, markets, and statistics; it shapes societies, policies, businesses, international relations, sustainability, and everyday life. Through this view, Vārttā connects academic knowledge with real-world issues and offers ideas that are insightful, easy to understand, and relevant. Our publication focuses on four areas: Finance & Economics, Society & Economics, Sustainability & Economics, and International Relations & Economics.
